About Louis G
French/ Philosophy/ Politics tutor (LSE and Tufts University Graduate)
I've given much thought over the years regarding the best way to teach. I take the instrumental approach, according to which we learn not in the pursuit of knowledge as an end in itself, but rather as a means of attaining some other, more tangible goal. I find this goal-oriented approach really helps students (and me!) with focus and hard work. I have good experience teaching as I worked as a French TA for several years during my studies and this approach always worked well with my students.
I am a half French, half British recent graduate of the LSE, where I completed a masters in EU Politics. I did my undergrad in the US at Tufts University where I graduated in philosophy and political theory magna cum laude. Before that, I completed an IB diploma in Paris.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing chess, reading history & literature, hiking, and taking photos. (lemondedelouis.tumblr.com)
I'm also available to tutor someone on any of those hobbies if interested.
I look forward to hearing from you!
