I am a second year chemistry student who has over 2 years' tutoring experience - paid and voluntary. Having a positive attitude and the required level of enthusiasm, coupled with easily understandable methods of teaching, I am able to make learning enjoyable and memorable. This is one of the reasons why my students do well - my longest student has made a significant improvement, moving from middle set maths to top set and getting the second highest results in her year group.
I believe the key to being a good tutor is developing a rapport with students, making them confident in confiding in me and answering questions without the need to feel shy of getting the wrong answer, which in turn makes them learn from where they went wrong. Additionally, being able to relate to them is critical, which I find easy to do since I was in their shoes merely a few years ago.
I have just under two years’ experience tutoring maths, ranging from reception level to GCSE level; chemistry until AS level, as well as having experience tutoring SATs.
