About Susanna H
Cambridge graduate teaching piano and RS
Hi everyone! I'm Susanna and I love playing and teaching the piano. I'm also a massive theology nerd - I studied it at Cambridge!
As my piano student you will have the chance to develop your playing in whatever style you choose. We can go down the traditional classical route, and take exams and learn scales if that's what you want to do. Or, we can learn to improvise like the jazz masters, or play along to your favourite popular songs. We can experience the joys of composing and playing duets too, if that's your thing.
I have taught a wide range of ages, from 5 to 65, and from scratch up to grade 8. I have had several distinction results, achieved through attention to detail, and persevering with difficult sections until I am sure the student is confident with what they have to do. I aim to inspire confidence in my students that I have high standards so they really feel that their playing is improving.
I always put the student’s needs first and tailor lessons to the individual. I make sure that the student always enjoys the pieces they are playing and is having the most fun they can have whilst constantly improving!
As my RS student, you will get focussed one-on-one lessons on the topics you need the most help with. I will be sure to explain everything in as much detail as you need until you understand completely. I will give you detailed feedback on your essays and help you structure them to ensure the highest marks possible.
I love discussing philosophical and ethical issues and will make sure you have a broad understanding of all the relevant background and are fully equipped for your exams. The most important thing to me is that you have the confidence to believe that you are capable of doing well!
I mostly teach from home in my flat in Vauxhall but am willing to travel if you live close by.
