My name is Dean and I am a music theory and singing teacher with a wealth of professional experience. I have taught music privately for the last six years and have successfully prepared pupils for exams, auditions, and performances. In addition, I also have classroom teaching experience so am familiar with the national curriculum as well as external exam boards. My teaching style is informed by my research, for my undergraduate dissertation at the University of Manchester, into music pedagogy in relation to performance anxiety. Therefore, I aim to create a safe and friendly learning environment to foster and nurture musical ability. I teach classical, pop, and musical theatre styles.
As a professional singer, I regularly perform as a soloist in recital and oratorio and in opera choruses and choirs in performances in the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK. Recent engagements include recitals with harp around Maastricht and Limburg, The Netherlands, and touring productions in the chorus of Mozart's 'The Magic Flute' and Bernstein's 'A Quiet Place' with Opera Zuid (The Netherlands).
