I’m a second year language student at the university of Bristol. I’ve studied French and German since year 9 and have a passion for languages- during my time at school and university I have also studied Welsh, Latin, Greek and Italian, so have a wide linguistic knowledge as well as a good understanding of the literature, history and culture of each. I have tutored four pupils consistently over the past two years (in person rather than online) but in the difficult current circumstances I am eager to offer online tuition instead. I have taught two adults at an advanced level, a young man at GCSE standard, and a seven year old girl starting from scratch, and have greatly enjoyed seeing each pupil learn and progress in their own way, and have been successful in adapting my teaching methods to the strengths and preferences of each individual. During my time at school, as MFL prefect I ran a German club for the primary school pupils, during which we learned German through creative activities, games and music. I also spent an hour a week throughout the sixth form doing guided reading with pupils struggling in English. I have recently confirmed two placements as an English language assistant in two schools in France and Austria for the Year Abroad part of my degree, and am looking forward to potentially pursuing a career in teaching.
