About Emily K
English tutor
Hi there. I'm Emily, a second year English Literature and Language student at the university of Leeds. English has always been a passion of mine and I aim to share that inspiration through teaching. I received 2 A*s at GCSE and an A at A-Level in English, I have had lots of experience in helping out peers and younger students to understand the complex requirements from new GCSE and A-Level examination boards. My ultimate aim is to become a fully-fledged English teacher but for now, I'd love to help you get up to the grade that you deserve.
Lots of the problems surrounding difficulties with English exams stems around a lack of interest in the texts. Due to this, my primary method of support usually revolves around fuelling enthusiasm for literature. We will study the key points that will help you reach your required grade and then eventually move towards writing essays and answering questions whilst trying to understand the mark-scheme which can be confusing without adequate support.
