I am to attend Oxford University to study Classics (Literae Humaniores) in October. I Obtained all A's in my A-Levels of Maths, Physics and Classical Civilisation, all of which were in the new A-Level Specification. I myself found whilst doing Maths and Physics A-Level my biggest problems, being one of few girls in my class, was confidence in my abilities, though I was just as capable as my male classmates I often fell short when engaging in classroom environments due to this lack of confidence, which negatively impacted my grades. What pushed me to do my best in these two subjects in particular, as well as in Classics, was engaging in private tuition with tutors who focused not only on the academic side of tutoring but also on building my confidence in my abilities. For this reason, I would love to offer tuition for young people who are in the same position as I was: needing guidance in not only academic problems with the subject but also mental approach to exams. My teaching method on the academic side of things is very methodical: I discuss with the student the problems they are facing with the subject and create a pack of questions ranging in intensity as well as self-made tests designed to cover every aspect of that specific topic until the student feels comfortable enough with the problem area.
