Hi there! I'm Tom.
I'm a 3rd year student at the University of Leeds studying French, German and Linguistics and currently a 1st year student at the Open University studying Mathematics and Statistics. I've spent 6 years working as a modern language tutor in Luxembourg and worked for 2 years as a French language assistant at York College to prepare students for their oral examinations. I also worked in France for a year as an English language assistant in two secondary schools in association with the British Council.

I base my lessons on what the curriculum suggests: focusing on gaining confidence for final exams whilst also making sure that lessons and subject matter remains engaging by sharing my enthusiasm for/knowledge of Mathematics (including French and German). Having been through the education system in the UK and in Luxembourg, I have drawn from my own experiences of learning mathematics and foreign languages and facing the challenges I managed to overcome.
When tutoring younger children, my aim is to make the lessons as fun as possible focusing on content which engages a younger mind, whilst making sure progress is monitored and learning outcomes are achieved.

I'm very passionate about teaching and whether your a beginner, A-level student or someone who simply wants to build on their language/numerical skills, I'm more than willing to devote my time to help you every step of the way.
