About Vanessa K
english Literature and Language Tutor, GCSE, A-LEVEL and university applications
King's College London graduate with an English Literature and Language degree. I am currently working with Regent's University London in the English Language Centre as well as qualifying to Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) in China.
My aim is to inspire students to reach their full potential through sharing the enthusiasm and knowledge I have for the subject.
I work part-time as an Activity Leader with Regent's University where I take students on activities around London, my favourite part of this job is that I plan activities according to my conversations with students so that I can see and be a part of their personal and cultural development. In addition to this, I often organise and run small classes for the English Language students 16+, in the past I have volunteered as an assistant teacher in primary schools so I have experience of working with a broad range of ages. My wider experience includes sailing and netball coaching, theatre workshops, and volunteering for charities such as the Outlook Trust, a charity that takes visually impaired children on adventure weekends.
I attended Bradford Grammar School, a leading independent school in the North of England where I gained 10 GCSE'S ( A*-A) and 4 A Levels in English Literature, History, Politics and Theatre Studies (A*-B). I can assist with personal statements, more general applications to university, and give advice on extended projects if required.
I focus on engaging with students so they learn to think critically and ultimately develop a love for learning.
