InvestIn investment banking course March 2020
In March 2020 I went on a day's investment banking course at UCL where they taught me key skills involved in investment banking. I also learnt a lot about the life of an investment banker as a trader, salesman and researcher.
Student Investor Challenge September 2018 to Present
• I have participated in the Student Investor Challenge for two years so far, investing in the FTSE 100 with virtual money, as part of a team in a national competition.
• I am very intrigued by the stock market and investment strategies, which has inspired me to create my own trading portfolio on Trading 212
Work Experience-Bharat Shah&Co Ltd 06/07/2020-17/07/2020
• In Summer 2020 I completed a two-week work experience at a local chartered accounting firm where I learnt book-keeping and how Microsoft Excel is used for accounting purposes
School Economics Magazine | Whitonomics September 2018 to Present
• I write articles for the school economics magazine
• In the 2019 edition, I wrote an article about Brazil’s then new president, Jair Bolsonaro
• In the 2020 edition, I wrote an article about Gabon’s relative success in relation to its regional counterparts
• This experience taught me research skills and how to write in a formal and academic manner.

• I wrote 8 articles which were uploaded monthly on to a national website as part of a scheme which has enabled me to improve my writing style and continuously seek feedback from the leader of Journalism Club who was an ex-Journalist
Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver Award 2017-2019
• For the Bronze Award I volunteered at my local youth club, learnt Gujarati as a skill, played hockey for the physical activity section and completed a 2 day expedition
• For the Silver Award I volunteered at my local library, continued to learn Gujarati as my skill and play hockey as my physcial activity and completed a 3 day expedition
Phoenix Bespoke Support 04/08/2020 to Present
• In August 2020 I got my first ever job, being a support worker, something which I continue to this day, whilst balancing A-Levels.
• My role involves promoting the client’s best interests, doing activities with them and striving to make them independent, prosperous members of society; it is a role I thoroughly enjoy.
Gujarati Classes September 2009 to 2019
• For 10 years, I attended my local Gujarati school where I learnt my mother-tongue. I eventually became Head Boy and took GCSE Gujarati , in my final year
• As I am now fluent in conversational Gujarati, I occasionally attend local elderly club functions to talk to and entertain the elderly on a voluntary basis
SAS (South, Sports and Social) 2009-2019
• I attended SAS for 10 years, where I played many sports, made new friends, competed at the Oshwal Olympics several times and eventually became a committee member
Interests
• I play hockey, basketball, tennis, football and cricket regularly and am an avid football and cricket fan.
• I enjoy reading non-fiction books on the subjects of business and economics and read the Economist weekly
