Hi,

my name is Marco. I am sub-principal double bass with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. I love teaching double bass and sharing my passion for music with students of any age. I have an active career in music and have performed around the world with acclaimed groups including, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, among others others.
I trained in San Francisco with Scott Pingel, principal bass of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, and in London at the Guildhall School for my masters degree, with the legendary late Rinat Ibragimov, former principal bass of the London Symphony Orchestra.
My teaching actively draws from all these experiences as well as my current artistic activities with world class conductors and soloists.
I am 30 years old, speak Italian and Farsi as well as English, and also bits of Spanish , Portuguese, and German.
My teaching style is friendly and I love connecting with people. I get great satisfaction from seeing a student understand a new concept and feel that they’ve progressed. I love people as well and as I believe everyone is unique I strive to understand my student and find what ‘clicks’ for each of them.
