Hi,

My name is Joseph Buckmaster.

I am a professional opera singer, working with some of the uk’s foremost opera companies.

I have been involved in music since I was 6 years old, when I took up singing in the local cathedral choir and began piano lessons.

I completed my Masters studies at the Royal Academy of Music and have an undergraduate degree from the Royal Northern College of Music.

My focus in teaching is always to help the student find their own voice and understand key principles or breath, support, placement and projection.

It is so important that we understand the music in front of us, this is why music theory is crucial. I struggled with is growing up so really empathise with those who find it hard. I always relish helping people through struggles in learning, whether that be singing/performance/public speaking/theory/piano.

I have experience with students of all ages, am DBS certified and I am a member of the ISM.

Most importantly I always strive to help you have fun and enjoy making music.
